Affiliate Disclosure Policy

The Change Leaders Attaché

Last updated: 16 March 2026

At The Change Leaders Attaché, we may from time to time recommend tools, books, courses, or services that we genuinely believe will support your coaching or change management journey. If we have an affiliate relationship with any of those providers — meaning we may earn a commission or referral benefit if you choose to purchase — we will always tell you, clearly and upfront. Our recommendations are based on real experience and professional judgement, never on commission rates.

1. What This Policy Covers

This Affiliate Disclosure Policy explains how The Change Leaders Attaché ('we', 'us', 'our') handles affiliate and referral relationships on our website and in any content we publish, including blog posts, resource pages, emails, and social media.

It applies to all visitors to our website, whether you are browsing for the first time, considering our services, or an existing client. It is intended to be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which governs how we handle your personal information.

We have written this policy to comply with our obligations under Australian law and to meet best-practice standards for visitors from other jurisdictions. More on those obligations is set out in Section 5.

2. Our Current Affiliate Status

As at the date of this policy, The Change Leaders Attaché does not currently hold any active affiliate partnerships or earn any commissions, referral fees, or other financial benefits from third-party products or services recommended on this website. Where we recommend a resource, tool, book, or service, it is purely because we believe it is valuable — with no financial incentive attached.

We have published this policy in advance of any future affiliate arrangements, so that our audience understands our approach to transparency and is never left guessing about the basis of our recommendations.

When any affiliate or referral relationship is established — whether with an Australian partner or an international one — this policy will be updated promptly, and disclosures will appear wherever relevant content is published.

3. How Affiliate Relationships Work

An affiliate relationship is a commercial arrangement where we receive a financial benefit — typically a commission, referral fee, or discount — when someone clicks a link on our website and makes a purchase or signs up with a third-party provider.

When affiliate relationships are active, here is how they will typically work on this website:

  • Affiliate links will be clearly marked near the link itself, or at the top of any page or post that contains them
  • We will use plain language such as 'Affiliate link — we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you' rather than vague terms like 'spon' or 'collab'
  • The price you pay for any product or service will not be affected by our affiliate relationship — in many cases, we may be able to offer you a preferential rate
  • We will only recommend products and services we have personally assessed and genuinely believe are relevant and useful to our audience
  • An affiliate relationship will never cause us to recommend something we would not otherwise recommend, nor suppress a recommendation we believe is in your interest

4. Our Standards for Recommendations

The foundation of our coaching and change management practice is trust. The integrity of our recommendations — whether or not they carry an affiliate relationship — is non-negotiable.

Before recommending any product, tool, course, or service to our audience, we apply the following standards:

4.1 Genuine Assessment

We will only recommend products or services that we have personally used, reviewed, or have direct professional experience with. We do not recommend something simply because an affiliate programme exists.

4.2 Relevance to Our Audience

Any recommendation we make must be genuinely relevant to the individuals and organisations we serve — people navigating personal transformation, leadership challenges, or organisational change. We will not promote products that are outside this scope simply for commercial gain.

4.3 Honest Opinion

If we have reservations about a product or service, we will say so. A commission does not buy a positive review. Our audience deserves our honest professional opinion, not a sales pitch dressed up as advice.

4.4 No Hidden Relationships

We will never conceal a commercial relationship. If we have received a product for free, been paid to review something, or stand to earn a referral benefit, we will say so — clearly, and at the point where you encounter the recommendation.

5. Legal Framework

This policy has been prepared in accordance with the following legal and regulatory requirements:

5.1 Australia — Australian Consumer Law (ACL)

Under section 18 of the Australian Consumer Law, businesses must not engage in conduct that is misleading or deceptive, or likely to mislead or deceive. Failing to disclose a commercial relationship when making a recommendation can constitute misleading conduct.

The Australian Association of National Advertisers (AANA) Code of Ethics, section 2.7, further requires that advertising and marketing communications — including those containing affiliate links — be clearly distinguishable as commercial content. We take this obligation seriously.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has identified digital marketing and undisclosed commercial relationships as an active enforcement priority. Penalties for non-compliance can include formal warnings, financial penalties, and injunctions.

5.2 Australia — Spam Act 2003

If we send you any email or electronic communication that contains affiliate links, we will comply with the Spam Act 2003. This means any such communication will clearly identify us as the sender, will only be sent to people who have given us their consent to receive marketing communications, and will include a clear and simple way to unsubscribe.

5.3 United States — FTC Guidelines

For visitors from the United States, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires that material connections between an endorser and an advertiser be clearly disclosed. Our disclosure practices meet or exceed the FTC's standard for 'clear and conspicuous' disclosure, as set out in the FTC's Endorsement Guides.

5.4 United Kingdom & European Union — Consumer Protection

For visitors from the UK or European Union, we acknowledge that similar disclosure obligations exist under UK and EU consumer protection law. Commercial content must be identifiable as such. Our disclosure practices are designed to comply with these requirements across all relevant jurisdictions.

5.5 Canada — Competition Act and CASL

For Canadian visitors, the Competition Act prohibits misleading advertising and requires disclosure of material connections. Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) also applies to any electronic commercial messages that include affiliate content. Our email practices are designed to comply with CASL.

6. Current and Future Affiliate Partners

As noted in Section 2, we do not currently have any active affiliate partnerships. When we do establish affiliate relationships — with Australian or international partners — we will update this section to list the categories of products and services involved.

The types of partnerships we may explore in the future include:

  • Professional coaching tools, assessment platforms, and resources
  • Change management frameworks, methodologies, and training programmes
  • Books, online courses, and learning platforms relevant to leadership and transformation
  • Productivity and business management software
  • Professional development and accreditation programmes

In all cases, any affiliate relationship will be disclosed at the point of recommendation. This section of the policy will be updated to reflect active partnerships when they are established.

7. What We Will Never Do

We want to be explicit about the standards we hold ourselves to:

  • We will never promote a product or service we do not believe in, regardless of the commission offered
  • We will never conceal or obscure a commercial relationship using vague language
  • We will never allow an affiliate arrangement to influence the editorial independence of our content
  • We will never allow our clients' trust — which is the foundation of our coaching practice — to be compromised by undisclosed commercial interests

If you ever feel that a recommendation on our website lacks sufficient transparency, we encourage you to contact us directly. We welcome that feedback.

8. Third-Party Products and Services

When we recommend a third-party product or service — whether or not an affiliate relationship exists — please be aware that:

  • We are not responsible for the quality, performance, or customer service of any third-party provider
  • Any purchase you make through an affiliate link is a transaction between you and the third-party provider; we are not a party to that transaction
  • Third-party websites have their own privacy policies and terms of use, which we encourage you to read before making any purchase
  • We cannot guarantee the ongoing availability, pricing, or quality of any third-party product or service we have previously recommended

9. Updates to This Policy

We will update this policy whenever we establish a new affiliate relationship, when an affiliate relationship ends, or when relevant laws or best practices change. The 'Last updated' date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.

We recommend bookmarking this page if you would like to stay informed about our affiliate status. For significant changes, we may also publish a notice on our website or notify our email subscribers.
