I grew up in a family that moved. A lot. With a parent in the military and an immigrant family background, relocating every couple of years wasn't unusual — it was just life. New cities, new schools, new social codes to figure out. Looking back, it gave me something quietly invaluable: I became really good at reading people, adapting quickly, and finding my footing in unfamiliar places.

As an adult, that natural curiosity took me further. I chose to live in New Zealand, India, and Germany — not as a tourist passing through, but properly immersed, absorbing different ways of life, different values, different ideas about what a meaningful life actually looks like. Each place left its mark on how I see the world and the people in it.

I formalised that curiosity through a degree in social sciences — majoring in anthropology and development studies. I was fascinated by how communities work, what holds them together, and what allows people within them to truly flourish. Those questions have never really left me.

I went on to build a career in change management, working alongside project and change professionals in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. I understood the world they operated in — the complexity, the stakeholder demands, the constant pressure to deliver.

And over time, a pattern kept emerging. The most capable, accomplished professionals I worked with were often quietly struggling. Not with the work itself — they were brilliant at that. But with something deeper. A growing sense that despite all their success, something important was missing.
